Saltwater flats are extremely demanding environments and can demand a lot from a line. To present small to mid-sized flies to feeding bonefish without spooking them requires an extra level of ingenuity.
With its balanced taper for covering the widest range of effective distances, the Super-Dri Bonefish is the perfect all-around taper line for fishing the flats. With our unbeatable slick coating, you’ll be able to quickly pick up and shoot casts out to that pod of feeders you can barely spot on the edge of the flat.
Available in 6wt to 9wt in floating and intermediate versions.
Front loops: All models feature a front loop
Tip & Front Taper: The moderately aggressive front taper is powerful enough to turn over moderately heavy flies, but can still lay out delicately enough to not spook the water when needed.
Belly: The longer belly design helps with distance casting.
Rear Taper: The moderate rear taper is designed to load the rod quickly, but still carry a stable cast to moderate distances.
Rigging tips:
- Small to Moderately Large flies: These fisheries often require longer (9-15?) fluorocarbon or heavy PolyLeaders. Heavier pound test leaders will be necessary for properly turning over flies. Add sinking ability with the sinking density PolyLeaders (Salmon Extra Strong or Bonefish recommended).
*AFTMA Stand. Wt – This is the AFTMA standard measurement which measures the grain weight of only the first 30 feet of the head.
